A oferta das empresas e a competitividade dos destinos turísticos

RESUMO: O presente trabalho tem como principal objectivo abordar a competitividade dos destinos turístico a partir da oferta das empresas e das acções estratégicas dos poderes públicos. A metodologia adoptada assenta na revisão bibliográfica, com recurso a conceitos e a modelos de competitividade aplicáveis aos destinos turísticos. Foram divulgados alguns resultados de um trabalho empírico, aplicado a 415 empresas portuguesas, relativamente à competitividade e atractividade de Portugal enquanto destino turístico. Os resultados obtidos apontam para alguma prudência no que respeita a um crescimento excessivo de turistas, de tipo quantitativo, tendo-se concluído que a aposta deve ser feita na qualidade da oferta no seu conjunto, por forma a valorizar e preservar os recursos turísticos existentes. As acções estratégicas resultam de parcerias entre os vários stakeholders.

TITLE: The enterprises’ supply and competitiveness of tourism destinations

RESUMO: The main goal is to study the tourism destinations competitiveness, in terms of enterprises supply and the National Tourism Organizations strategy. The methodology includes bibliographic references, the concepts and competitiveness models support, in tourism destinations. Some empirical results of 415 portuguese enterprises were published, as concerns the attractiveness and competitiveness of Portugal, as tourism destination. The results suggest some prudence to avoid increasing and excessive mass tourism, and we had concluded that the main challenge is the quality of the supply, as a whole, in order to value and preserve the existent tourism resources. The strategic actions had resulted by partnerships among the different stakeholders.
