Psicoterapia na idade adulta avançada

Helder Rebelo (*)

ABSTRACT

The geriatric population represents an important group of patients that seek the health services. Besides the organic complaints, the inherent psychosocial factors of aging are also constituted as theme that structures many requests of help. The psychologists that work in the contexts of health receive, more and more, requests of senior adults that are confronted with serious difficulties in this stage of the vital cycle. This way, we accomplished a revision of the literature of the main models of psychotherapy intervention for customers in the old adult age.

Key words: Psychotherapy, aging, senior age.
