A participação da comunidade na prevenção dos abusos sexuais de crianças

RESUMO

Procuramos com este artigo evidenciar a importância de se intervir, através de uma abordagem preventiva, nos abusos sexuais de crianças. Para alcançarmos o fim a que nos propusemos com este artigo, contextualizaremos a evolução realizada ao nível desta temática, bem como ao nível da prevalência e incidência e exporemos um programa de prevenção primária dos abusos sexuais que está a ser desenvolvido no contexto português, o programa CAP. Para sublinhar a importância deste tipo de programas apresentamos, igualmente, alguns estudos realizados sobre o impacto de outros programas de prevenção dos abusos de crianças.

ABSTRACT

With this article we intend to sustain the importance of primary prevention approach on child sexual abuse. To accomplish our aim we will contextualize the development done about this subject, as well as some information about the prevalence and incidence of child sexual abuse. We also describe a primary prevention program on child sexual abuse - the CAP program - which is being developed in the Portuguese context. To underline the importance of this kind of programs we present some studies about the impact of other child abuse prevention programs.
