O legado de Harold H. Kelley: O estudo da interdependência e atribuição de causas (*)

RESUMO

Este artigo pretende ser uma homenagem ao psicólogo social Harold Kelley falecido no início do ano de 2003. Nele apresentamos os trabalhos do autor no campo de estudo da Interdependência e da Atribuição Causal, defendendo que o seu brilhantismo deve-se não tanto à defesa de noções complexas ou transcendentes mas antes, à clarividência com que definiu as suas ideias em torno de dois princípios básicos: o de que comportamento é controlado pelas suas consequências, e o de que estas consequências têm um caracter subjectivo que é influenciado pelo modo como interpretamos as consequências passadas ou antecipamos as futuras.
