Abstract

Objective: We aim to determine the impact of oral problems on the quality of life of drug addicts. Method: This is a cross-sectional study with a sample of 80 individuals. Questionnaires in interview form were used including Oral Health Impact Profile 14. Results: The prevalence of the impact was 81.3%, and it was associated with gender and social class. The gender variable was statistically significant for the following dimensions: psychological discomfort, psychological disability, social disability, and deficiency. Social class was statistically significant for the dimensions psychological discomfort, physical disability, and psychological disability. Conclusion: It is necessary to include dentistry in rehabilitation projects and propose programs to promote and recover oral health to improve the quality of life of drug addicts.
