Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Ricardo Filipe Rodrigues de. Right to Health of Refugees: Portuguese Law Perspectives. e-Pública [online]. 2016, vol.3, n.1, pp.207-229. ISSN 2183-184X.

The present paper leans over the right to health of refugees in the Portuguese legal order. Despite the contributions from other States, even outside the European Union, the main object of interest was the duality between legislation and human, scientific and material resources available in Portugal to shelter and care, from a clinical viewpoint, of the displaced, knowing the sanitation and hygiene conditions they usually endure when are carried. Following a general introduction of the investigation's premise, an analysis of the legal umbrella straightly ensues, divided in a situational statistic analysis, on the unfolding of national ruling in the different stages of reception of these populations and on an examination of the public and private capacities to abide the legal provisions. For the conclusion, the meaning of this human and fundamental right is retaken, as well as the Portuguese reality is scaled on this sensitive issue.
