Abstract

COIMBRA, Rodrigo. Grounds and evolution of constitutional limitation to working time in brazilian labour law. e-Pública [online]. 2016, vol.3, n.1, pp.184-206. ISSN 2183-184X.

This article aims to reflect on the foundations of one of the most important issues of labor law from its historical background to the present: the limitation of working hours. It is intended to restore the foundations and historical development of the subject in international law (with focus on the major countries of Europe and the Conventions of the International Labour Organization) and the Brazilian Labor Law. In the context of unstructured time and work space in which we live have been several new developments, among which stand many changes involving work organization, administration schedules, modalities of tasks and responsibilities, remuneration systems, atypical contracts, mobility among other issues that significantly affect the regulation of working time limits, constituting some of the main challenges of labor law.

Keywords : Duration of Work; Historical evolution; Fundamentals; Federal Constitution.
