Abstract

DIAS, Marta Bastos  and  SOUSA, Alexandra. Anti-Aging Nutrition. Nutrícias [online]. 2013, n.16, pp.31-34. ISSN 2182-7230.

The hypothesis that the influence of the nutritional component in the aging process could be relevant as a way to enhance the quality of life and increase health and longevity of the population caught our interest. Considering the exponential growth of anti-aging nutrition and scientific evidence supporting this concept, we review the relevant bibliography. We synthesized the guidelines of the anti-aging, particularly the nutritional points, as well as the notions implicit on aging process. There has been a growing interest in anti-aging nutrition and consequently an increase in scientific evidences. Thus, anti-aging approach should be integrated in preventive health care, including the nutritional education.
