BARROS, Vanessa de Melo  and  BARBA, Patrícia Carla de Souza Della. Translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the Classroom Measure of Engagement, Independence, and Social Relationships - ClaMEISR for the Brazilian version. Invest. Práticas [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.2, pp.106-117. ISSN 2182-1372.  https://doi.org/10.25757/invep.v9i2.185.

In the school environment, the child crosses through different routines, interactions and environments and one of the most relevant methodological aspects for the determination of these factors is the use of evaluation instruments that allow to evaluate and follow the performance of the child and the questionnaire Classroom Measure of Engagement, Independence , and Social Relationships - ClaMeisr addresses these needs. The purpose of this study is the translation and cultural adaptation of the instrument for the Portuguese language / Brazil. The translation process involved the steps: translation, synthesis of translations, retroversion, synthesis of versions, pre-test and translation approval. As results, a group of judges with concurrent English and content / concept (child development) and a group of professionals were set up to apply the translated version of the questionnaire. After evaluations, 45 items were questioned by the judges and 17 items were questioned by the group of professionals, with questions regarding the understanding of some terms, suggestions for adding words and highlighting a resource that did not belong to their reality. After the contributions of these steps the questionnaire was sent and validated by the author. Due to the relevance and pertinence of evaluating and monitoring children's performance, especially in infant education, the questionnaire was selected with the intention of contributing to a more objective evaluation and to an improvement in the practice of health and education professionals.
