This research, which was carried out in the scope of the Practice of Supervised Teaching of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education of the University of Algarve, is entitled «At the conquest of words by 4-year-olds children: a stage in the development of phonological awarenes», in the academic year of 2016/2017, in a Private Institution of Social Solidarity in Loulé, with a group of 4 years old children whose ability to identify the word was not correctly developed. We asked the following research question: «Will the exploration of sentences and words contribute to the development of word consciousness in 4-year-olds children?» and we defined as objectives of the study: to evaluate if the use of the set of phrases and words will develop the awareness of the word and, consequently, promote the development of word consciousness. In this study with an investigation-action design, we try to check the consequences after the implementation of a sequence of activities with the children. When it take the history as a strategy of motivation A that he knows the Moon, of Michael Grejniec, there were shown to the different children sentences connected with the history in six different stages between you: the words had differentiated morphology and the sentences were built with unequal syntax. The methodology is assumed quantitative, since we attribute a punctuation to the answers of the children, who better helped to register the obtained results us. The main results revealed an evolution in all the children along the process, in which it concerns the conscience of the word.
