Abstract

FREITAS, Lídia  and  CRAVEIRO, Clara. Pedagogical documentation and photography in the professional action and development of the early childhood educator: a reflection on the way of pedagogical supervision. Invest. Práticas [online]. 2018, vol.8, n.2, pp.98-114. ISSN 2182-1372.  https://doi.org/10.25757/invep.v8i2.139.

This article aims to provide a reflective outlook on a research project that we developed in which we wanted to increase the understanding of how the pedagogical documentation, using photography, can constitute a means of potentiating action and professional development of the childhood educator? Using qualitative research methodology, we developed a multiple case study, in which we applied the techniques of documentary analysis, participant observation, interview, and content analysis. In this, given the potential found either for observation, documentation and dissemination of pedagogical action and for the supervision, investigation and theorization, which are fundamental for professional development, we suggested that pedagogical photography may constitute a means of potentiating pedagogical action and professional development of the early childhood educator.
