This paper offers an approximation to the creative research carried out by the Spanish artist Ramón J. Freire Santa Cruz (Écija, Sevilla, 1980) in relation to thephotomechanical processes applied to the photopolymer engraving from digital positives and autographic positives. Developed in this context this work especially focuses on two ofhis projects: Suomenlinna 11 and Urban architecture. It also reflects his double profile asaresearcher and lecturer, resulting in an innovative artistic practice in the field of engraving andthe application of new techniques.
