This article analyzes the work of the Brazilian artist Laura Cattani (1982), more specifically the "Personal Demon" (2015) and the unfolding of the double concept, from psychoanalysis to art. It is intended to compare two myths of Greco-Roman culture, Narcissus and Pygmalion, presented by Stoichita (Stoichita, 2011) on the limits of the drive of erotic desire in theoretical-practical production. The conclusion is about the pitfalls of narcissism in art, and about sublimation and creation.
