Pharrell Williams's album "G I R L" may fail as feminist manifesto, but the music video for its single "It Girl", directed by Mr. and Fatasista Utamaro, reframes it in a topical discussion on the "juridification of imagination". At a time when the United Nations asks Japan for an iron fist concerning pedo pornographic comics and cartoons, this article investigates the ""2D complex" of "lolicon" and "moé" subcultures, and the way their abject phenomenology disrupts the boundaries between marginal and mainstream, "us" and the obscene Other.
