BACKGROUND: Currently, schizophrenia has been a disorder that causes an increasing number of psychosocial damage to the subject, and changes the family's routine. AIMS: Investigate the therapeutic actions for people with schizophrenia undergoing treatment in a Psychosocial Care Center. METHODS: Interpretive research was held; which data was collected through semi-structured interviews with the technical team of the service. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: Among the therapeutic actions performed, we highlight the psychological appointments and group therapeutic workshops. Among these, the income generating workshops were considered as a means of acceptance of mental patients in the community. Thus, it is important for nurses to encourage the participation of people with schizophrenia in these workshops and the elaboration of further studies related to therapeutic activities that promote rehabilitation of schizophrenic patients.
