Abstract

FREITAS, Fábio; SOUZA, Francislê Neri de  and  COSTA, António Pedro. webQDA online Self-Learning Prototype: an analysis of focus groups. RISTI [online]. 2020, n.38, pp.1-16. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.38.1-16.

The use of Qualitative Data Analysis Software (QDAS) is an unavoidable fact among qualitative researchers. However, the process of adopting these digital tools is not peaceful, as there is a whole process of learning from QDAS, which can be a barrier for researchers. The present study is part of a research project and aims to study this learning curve through collect data related to the analysis of an online Learning Prototype (PAo) of webQDA®. This qualitative research was based on two focus groups. The results demonstrated that, although the PAo proves to be a useful tool in learning, it has limitations in terms of Usability, which ends up providing a bad User experience (UX). These analyzes were carried out with webQDA® and proved to be essential in identifying the weaknesses of the PAo and in the process of creating general guidelines for the webQDA® online Self-Learning Environment.

Keywords : Qualitative Research; QDAS; Self-learning.
