SILVEIRO, André; EUSEBIO, Celeste  y  TEIXEIRA, Leonor. Heterogeneity in Accessibility of Travel Agency Websites: A Study in the Central Portugal Region. RISTI [online]. 2019, n.35, pp.18-34. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.35.18-34.

In the context of accessible tourism, websites, as preferential promotional channels, may facilitate the physical access of tourism products and / or services, if they meet the accessibility requirements of information. This study aims to analyze the level of websites’ accessibility of Travel Agency located in the Central Region of portugal, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and using two automatic assessment tools (AccessMonitor and TAW online). The results reveal that the Travel Agency websites reviewed have some accessibility issues, mainly in the WCAG basic requirements (level A), and the 'Perceptible' and 'Robust' principles. The article concludes with some suggestions for improving the accessibility of Travel Agency websites so that everyone can have access to information regardless of its characteristics and / or needs.
