Abstract

PINHEIRO, Vítor Hugo et al. Distração Fisária no Tratamento de Sarcoma de Ewing do Úmero Proximal em Idade Pediátrica. Rev. Port. Ortop. Traum. [online]. 2019, vol.27, n.2, pp.103-112. ISSN 1646-2122.

In children, about 75% of malignant bone tumors are located in the metaphyseal region of the long bones. Epiphyseal resection results in significant morbidity due to subsequent limb length discrepancy and / or dysfunction of the adjacent joints. With the evolution of surgical techniques, it was verified that, in children with periarticular malignant tumors, physeal distraction with preservation of the epiphysis presents excellent functional results. The objective of this study is to describe a clinical case of a 7-year-old child with Ewing’s sarcoma of the proximal humerus, treated by physeal distraction and reconstruction with allograft.

Keywords : Ewing Sarcoma; physeal distraction; humerus; bone tumor.
