Chondrosarcoma is a malign tumour rarely located in the hand phalanx. Its differential diagnosis should be done with other benign lesions, also producers of cartilage matrix, namely enchondroma. The therapeutic approach to chondrosarcoma in the hand phalanx should take into account the local and distant aggressiveness potential. Therefore, the amputation of the correspondent hand ray is, simultaneously, a radical resection and a limb salvage surgery. We present the clinical case of a chondrosarcoma of the proxiamal phalanx of the 3rd finger, where we performed an amputation of the correspondent hand ray. This technique presented excellent results, in terms of margins’ resection, functionality and aesthetic.
