Weakening of perineal muscles results in disorders of gynecological, urinary and gastrointestinal systems. Women often undergo changes labeled as sexual disfunctions, generating discomfort and dissatisfaction. Rehabilitation and strengthening of these muscles have a positive effect in the sexual life of women. It was our objective to investigate the strength of pelvic floor and its effects in female sexual disfunctions. 34 women aged from 20 to 40 years old volunteered. The study was performed in a private clinic in the city of F Fortaleza- CE. The volunteers replied to a Sexual Quocient questionnaire - female version (QS - F). It was performed an assessment of the strength of the pelvic floor muscles with the use of a PERINA 996-2® device. It was found that 62% of women reported a regular to good sexual performance; and that the higher the strength of the perineal muscles the better the sexual satisfactionThere is a direct correlation between muscle strength of the pelvic floor muscles and the degree of sexual satisfaction of women.
