This study aimed to determine the nutricional status through anthropometric variables, and describe the use of dietary suplements (DS) in adult bodybuilders. Evaluated 100 adults in 5 academies located in the city of Limoeiro do Norte, Ceará. Regarding the body fat percentage (%BF), 62.16 (n=46) males had a slight body fat percentage as well as fat females 73.08 (n=19). The risck of developing cardiovascular diseases through the waist circumference presented low risk, 77.03% (n=57) in male and 88.46% (n=23) in females. The regarding the use of dietary supplements, 78.3% (n=58) of males subjects were using dietary supplements, and 50% (n=13) female. Between dietary supplements most used by male highlights the branched amino acids (AABC) 59.4% (n=44), rich in proteins 50% (n=37), creatine 47.3% (n=35), anda high in carbohydrates 35.1% (n=26). Food suplements most used by sex women, AABC stands out 34.6% (n=09), rich in proteins 26.9% (n=04), creatine 19.2% (n=05), fat burners 19.2% (n=05) and calorie 19.2% (n=05). Emphasizes the importance of proper professional supervision to correct prescription of food supplements.
