OKAZAKI, V.A.; LAMAS, L.; OKAZAKI, F.A. e RODACKI, A.L.. The effect of distance increase on basketball shot performed by children. Motri. [online]. 2013, vol.9, n.2, pp.62-73. ISSN 1646-107X. https://doi.org/10.6063/motricidade.9(2).2668.
The effect of distance increased over the basketball jump shot performed by children was analyzed. Fifteen children (~12 years old and with 1,3 years of experience) were analyzed cinematically (2D, 100Hz, saggital plane) performing the basketball jump shot. As distance increased there was a decrease in shot accuracy. Low release height, small release angle, and great release velocity, modified in function of the changes in the movement control parameters, were suggested as the main factors that reduced shot accuracy as distance was increased.
