Abstract

LACERDA, Teresa  and  GONCALVES, Elsa. Aesthetic education, dance and sport in school. Rev. Port. Cien. Desp. [online]. 2009, vol.9, n.1, pp.105-114. ISSN 1645-0523.

This paper accomplishes a review of the literature (mainly in Portuguese language) about the importance of the aesthetic education and its relationship with dance, placing in evidence that sport may fairly contribute to aesthetic education. National school curriculum ascribes dance in physical education, so that aesthetics can be considered as the bridge that enhances the link between those activities that may find in body and movement its common matrix. Although large part of the authors strengthens the importance of art to aesthetic education, it is argued that objects outside theárealm of art, such as sport, may play a significant role in this domain.

Keywords : aesthetic education; dance; sport.
