PASA, Dayane and SILVEIRA, Michele. Welfare and quality of life of family caregivers of disabled people. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.2, pp.415-422. ISSN 1645-0086. https://doi.org/10.15309/20psd210216.
This study aimed to evaluate the psychological well-being and quality of life of 36 family caregivers of people with disabilities. This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study conducted at the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional (APAE) with a convenience sample. WHOQOL-Bref Psychological Well-Being and Quality of Life scales were used. For correlation between variables, the linear correlation coefficient of Perason or Spearman was used, with significance level of 5%. Of the domains of quality of life, the physicist presented the highest score (68.15 ± 20.63) and the psychological one had the lowest mean (64.23 ± 16.52). Regarding the dimensions of psychological well-being, personal growth had a higher mean (32.25 ± 5.51) and lower autonomy (25.25 ± 6.28). There was a significant positive correlation in almost all scales of the scales except the social relations domain with five of the six dimensions of psychological well-being. Finally, it was observed that the better the psychological well-being, the better the quality of life of these caregivers was presented.
