PEREIRA, Henrique  e  MONTEIRO, Samuel. Psychometric properties and validation of the portuguese version - Highly Sensitive Person Scale. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.2, pp.377-386. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/20psd210212.

High Sensitivity Sensory Processing (HSSP) is a person's willingness to perceive and process external and internal stimuli more intensely than the majority of the population. To measure this trait, Aron & Aron (1997) developed a one-dimensional questionnaire that has undergone different international validations. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the psychometric validation of the Portuguese version of this instrument and, therefore, to allow its use in the Portuguese-speaking world. Method: 1169 subjects participated in this study (66,1% women, mean age = 29,92 years, SD = 12,17). The confirmatory analysis showed indicators of an insufficient level of adjustment, which led to the exploratory analysis, which resulted in the presence of three factors (Ease of Excitation, Low Sensory Threshold, Aesthetic Sensitivity) whose reliability levels varied between ,87 and ,77. Thus, it is concluded that the Portuguese version of the HSPS has good psychometric properties and is suitable for use as an ASPS evaluation tool.
