The expansion of genetics contributed to a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying oncological diseases prior to their manifestation and recognition of their implications in individuals. The testing process and knowledge about this condition has psychosocial impact. The aim of this study was to identify the psychosocial profile of individuals with genetic mutation with / without breast cancer disease. A convenience sample was used with 62 users (31 - BRCA1; 31 - BRCA2) from C.H.S.J, aged between 19 and 77 years old. To collect the data, it was administered a Sociodemographic and Clinical Questionnaire, HADS, WHOQOL-Bref and BEP. The results demonstrated, based on the mean scores obtained, a mild anxious symptomatology and the absence of depressive and negative symptomatology in the different groups. Values suggestive of good quality of life were found, as well as considerable personal well-being, in all domains, except in the domain of health satisfaction. Mutation carriers without oncologic disease have mean values equal to or lower than patients with disease, in most of the variables under study. Although genetic testing is a stressful process, the results demonstrated that there are no inherent worrying indicators, even when in the presence of cancer disease, noting that anxiety was the variable to arouse a greater care.
