COSTA, Catarina; VILAR, Duarte; OLIVEIRA, Manuela  y  SOUSA, Gilberta. Implementation of HIV quick test in the madeira autonomous region 17/18. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2019, vol.20, n.3, pp.859-866. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/19psd200323.

This article aims to present the results of the implementation of the 100 RISCOS Project. This project aimed at implementing the rapid HIV/AIDS diagnostic test in the Madeira Region, with an annual oscillation in the number of new cases. In 2015 there were 33 new cases, 65% in the late stage, in 2016, 8 cases and in 2017, 24 cases (RAM Infection-Contagious Service, EPE). These cases are located mainly in Funchal, followed by Câmara de Lobos and Santa Cruz. In total there are 634 carriers referenced in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. Reproductive sexual health services were provided free of charge and confidential, with emphasis on the HIV diagnostic test, pre and posttest counseling, signaling and referrals, sensitization sessions and health education. A total of 500 diagnostic tests were performed in community contexts, with the highest number of females living in Funchal and Portuguese nationality. The predominant age group was 49 years or more, and heterosexuals had the highest number of test searches. Unprotected sex is highlighted as the most frequent risk behavior and reason for performing the rapid test.

Palabras clave : HIV rapid test; diagnosis; prevention; intervention; health.
