Resumen

FREITAS, Mayanna et al. Qualidade de vida de pacientes com Guillain-Barré: uma revisão. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2019, vol.20, n.2, pp.319-327. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/19psd200204.

To evaluate the quality of life of patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Articles were consulted describing the QL in patients with GBS, published between 2007 and 2017, in PubMed, LILACS, BVS and Scielo databases. The search was performed through the descriptors "Guillain-Barre syndrome and quality of life", "Guillain-Barre and life-Related syndrome", "Guillain-Barre syndrome and quality of life" and "Guillain-Barre syndrome and Health-Related Quality of Life". Two studies were found using the Quality of life questionnaires and Sickness Impact Profile, indicating that over time the quality of life is reduced because of the limitations caused by the disease. In both studies, the questionnaires were answered by the patients themselves, however, the scores can be improved as performed treatment. The pathophysiology of this disease is unknown and variable for each form of presentation. The quality of life can be conceptualized as personal and subjective, observing that there are several contributing factors for this to be considered good or bad. The studies selected in this review are in accordance with the existing literature, with the view that the data coincide. Guillain-Barré syndrome has several negative consequences according to the severity of its symptoms, which directly interferes with the quality of life of these individuals. Through this review we note the need for specific studies from questionnaires on QL in patients with GBS that are available for reading, without correlation of treatment or preventive methods.

Palabras clave : Guillain-Barré syndrome; quality of life; syndrome.
