Stress is a reaction caused by changes in body and mind, when we are in danger situations that require rapid change. At a healthy level, it can be positive for the body, because it helps maintain efficiency and can generate new motivations and goals. However, at high levels it can interfere in several spheres, causing in the subject a decrease in your perception of environment, which in traffic is extremely worrying, since the individual needs to make decisions in seconds. This study aims to understand how stressful situations in traffic are related to the behaviors of truck drivers. For this purpose, were collected data from 196 truck drivers, aged between 21 and 70 years old, using the Driver Stress Inventory and the Driver Behaviour Questionnaire, besides as a demographic questionnaire. The results point to significant correlations between the Driver Stress Inventory subscales and the Driver Behaviour Questionnaire subscales: Search for Emotion, Dislike of Driving and Aggression were positively correlated with Ordinary Violations and Aggressive Violations, whereas Fatigue Propensity was positively correlated with Errors in driving.
