Given the chronicity of this pathology, the objective of the treatment is the improvement of the symptomatology and not its total remission. Cognitive-behavioral therapy adapted to hoarding disorder is the most studied form for the treatment of individuals with compulsive accumulation. The ineffectiveness of pharmacological treatment led to the development of specific cognitive-behavioral interventions adapted to the difficulties of individuals with this pathology.
