ROCHA, Marília et al. Psychosocial aspects of obesity in childhood and adolescence. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.3, pp.713-723. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/17psd1807.

To investigate the psychosocial aspects related to obesity in children and adolescents. it is an integrative review of literature carried out in the MEDLINE, LILACS and SCIELO databases, using the terms "child obesity" and "psychology". The information was organized according to the characteristics of the studies and a descriptive and qualitative analysis was performed. We included and analyzed 12 articles referring to researches with obese children and adolescents and/or parents or guardians, from January 2011 to June 2016. These were divided into three thematic categories by the judges: (a) Mental health and the impact of bullying for obese children and adolescents; (b) Sedentary lifestyle as recurrent behavior in childhood and adolescence; and (c) Family support in the psychosocial coping of the childhood and juvelie obesity. Data analysis contributed to verify the multicausals consequences of obesity in human development, besides pointing out the importance of scientific advances about this subject. Due to the evidence of psychological and social difficulties, as well as the increasing rate of childhood and juvenile obesity in Brazil, it is understood the relevance of promoting public policies and multi-professional health care, in order to prevent and / or treat the the psychosocial aspects addressed.

Palabras clave : obesity; child; adolescent.
