GERALDINI, Adriano; LIBERAL, Márcia De; NOVAIS, Maykon  and  ZUCCHI, Paola. Medical ambulatory of specialties-psychiatry Vila Maria: an inventory of two initial years. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.2, pp.503-511. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/17psd180218.

To characterize patients and quantify services rendered by Medical Ambulatory of Specialties - Psychiatry Vila Maria, from August 2010 to August 2012. This is a descriptive, quantitative and retrospective case study. The sample is comprised of 7,687 users of the referred ambulatory. Information were obtained through date base and descriptively analysed through charts and tables. Most patients were women, with ages predominantly ranging from 36 to 40 years; the team of affective disorders was the one that received the largest number of patients; depressive episodes were the most frequent diagnosis; 32% of the patients abandoned the treatment and 30% were discharged or referred; from referrals, most of them went to Basic Health Unities; the level of patients satisfaction was excellent or good for the majority of interviewers. The change in Mental Health policy aims at building an integrated and efficient network of services, in which medical ambulatories play a vital role by offering attendance to family and community, in accordance with the Psychiatrist Reform.
