Resumen

SANTOS-SILVA, Clayton dos; RODRIGUES, Avelino Luiz  y  ROITBERG, Sandra Elizabeth Bakal. A case report of patient with atopic dermatitis: a biopsychosocial approach. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.2, pp.389-400. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/17psd180209.

The objective of this study was to prepare the psychodiagnosis of a patient with atopic dermatitis. In order to make a comparative study with the usual literature in psychosomatic, in which several authors use and disseminate alexithymia as a characteristic of these patients, and more specifically in the case of this dermatosis, when researchers describe them as having irritable mood, anger, impaired self-image and self-esteem, and high incidence of personality type A. The patient is a twelve-year-old girl who has somatic problems from early childhood, and two years before the psychodiagnosis presented skin lesions. The diagnosis of atopic dermatitis was confirmed in a medical report and the girl was referred to psychological treatment by her dermatologist. A psychodiagnosis study was used as a method with semi-structured interviews, anamnesis, Rorschach test, Children's Apperception Test (Animal Figures) - CAT-A, the the Brazilian versions of Toronto Alexithymia Scale - TAS26 and Observer Alexithymia Scale - OAS. The theoretical reference was the psychoanalytic. Based on the data it was identified that the patient had difficulty with self-image and self-esteem, and exhibit behaviors that suggest Type A personality, as described in the literature. Despite her inconclusive score in TAS26 and considered as clinical score in OAS, with the analysis of the data set of instruments it is concluded that the girl is not alexithymic, since she did not show such mental settings in an evident way. The study shows therefore how a deeper psychodiagnosis can prevent such erroneous conclusion.
