This study aimed at analyzing the vulnerability of young at the consumption of alcohol and tobacco, as well as the implications of that consumption in others vulnerabilities. The sample was constituted by 8429 students from public high school in Paraiba, of whom 5212 (61,8%) were females, with ages between 14 e 20 years old (M=16; DP=1,48). It was used a structured self-administered questionnaire containing 23 questions. The results were analyzed using descriptive, univariate and bivariate statistics. The use of alcohol and tobacco was associated with behaviors related to the use of condom, suicide, as well as the influence in the evaluation about life and health. It was noticed that the young have shown themselves vulnerable to alcohol, and tobacco, with positive perceptions about these substances, a motivating aspect for consumption, making them more susceptible to other vulnerabilities.
