According to the Strategy for the development of the National Palliative Care Program (2010) there is a need to conduct a survey to the Portuguese population that allows knowledge about what people think about dignified death and expectations regarding the death itself. This research has helped to fill this need by studying the concept of the Good Death in the Portuguese population. The convenience sample of the study has 205 participants, of which 38% are men with an average age of 36.12 years. The results show that the concept of good dead is related with Gender, Age, Marital Status, Training and Experience with patients at end-of-life.
