MELO, Anne Cristine de; VALERO, Fernanda Fernandes  y  MENEZES, Marina. The psychological interventioninpalliative care. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.3, pp.452-469. ISSN 1645-0086.

Palliative Care (PC) are active and total care of patients whose disease no longer responds to curative treatment. This article is a review of the literature on the specific context of knowledge production in the last 11 years and aims to analyze the theoretical references and the techniques used by psychologists in care of adults in the PC including terminally ill patients and their families or caregivers. We investigated the concept, characteristics and contexts that offer PC as well as psychological interventions performed. The analysis allowed us to observe that the psychologist performs relevant interventions in ??PC, considering the intensity of suffering that patients and family/caregivers had at that stage of the disease, with the proximity of death. However, the lack of publications in Psychology serves as a warning to the inclusion of PC in the training of these professionals, for a total of 149 references found, only 21 dealt with the psychological intervention in PC.

Palabras clave : palliative care; psychological intervention; terminally ill patients.
