Abstract

During our life everyone has to deal with several risks and challenges that threat our well-being. Adolescence, due to its special features, is a stage where some of these risks and challenges gain an important dimension. Some adolescents, namely the adolescents with special educational needs (SEN), may have to face additional risks and challenges due to their limitations that in turn, in an environment with barriers, can restrict their participation in society and compromise positive development in several life arenas. The project “Risk and Resilience in Adolescents with Special Educational Needs”, aims to gain knowledge about adolescents with special educational needs behaviours and life styles, and also develop an intervention program focus on health and resilience promotion for parents, teachers and other technicians. It was proposed to contribute to the theoretical, conceptual and methodological development in research areas related to health behaviour, well-being and resilience in adolescents with SEN. In this article the several stages of the project are presented as well as the results obtains in each of these stages.
