Abstract

MARGALHO, Renata; PAIXAO, Rui  and  PEREIRA, Marco. Therapeutical relationship and adherrence in PLWHIV (People Living With HIV). Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2010, vol.11, n.1, pp.71-81. ISSN 1645-0086.

The aim of this study is assess therapeutic relationship influence in adherence behavior. Sample consisting in 81 patients with age average of 38.7 years old, distributed in 2 groups that characterize the relationship as positive and negative. The largest proportion of patients who has non adherence classifies the therapeutic relationship as negative. This group shows high levels in hostility dimension comparing with positive group. Adherence and therapeutic relationship are variables marked by common factors, especially treatment efficiency, physician competence and so on. Those factors contribute to patients’ involvement and proactive attitude.
