Abstract

This study provides to analyze the Social Representations of health-disease process, which permeate the relations between nephrologists and patients with end-stage renal disease. It tried to delineate the concepts that physicians and patients through the Bardin's Analysis Method, following by a quantitative and a qualitative analysis in order to investigate the contents of these social actors speech concerned to notions of health, disease and clinical treatment. Graphics were developed with the analyzed percentages of these concepts to plan the analyze of the more important informations of this study. In conclusion, there is a disagreement between Social Representations when emphasized the conceptions about health and disease, which acts on the purposes, postures, treatment adherence and the way to work with the disease by the physician and by the patient. The Social Representations didn't have reciprocity at communication between actors about the same objects: health-disease process.
