Abstract

Analysis about the autonomy of serious mental disturbance carries under the subjects own. Quality research with analysis of data from medical reports and interviews. Six subjects of a Mental Health Attention Center of Minas Gerais/Brazil participated in the study. From the analysis of the content of the sources it was observed that they have compatible social abilities with their maintenance in the community, they establish a good level of communication and understanding of their life condition. It is perceived that the subjects engaged in these services are able to establish meaningful changes with the community in general and accomplish social activities considered autonomous production. However, they are still living in restrict worlds, with narrow changing spaces which make it difficult to establish social contracts that could create more autonomy. It is concluded that the large misery and the little integration among psychology apparatus and the community are negative influence for this conquest.
