The results showed the existence of statistically significant differences for coping strategies referring to activities maintenance and independence and affective regulation and for the dimensions of illness perception related to illness identity. Emotional adjustment, coping strategies, affectivity and illness perception were associated according to the theoretical models, showing the role of psychological factors in the adjustment to cancer disease.
