Abstract
DIAS, Sónia; NUNES, Maria and GAMA, Ana. A reflection on gender inequality and health in the context of migration: What challenges and responses for health promotion of migrant women?. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2020, n.43, pp.103-119. ISSN 0874-6885. https://doi.org/10.34619/92yr-rh52.
Gender is a factor of social inequalities between women and men, including in health. Differences in gender roles and disparities in working and socioeconomic conditions make women more susceptible to worse health outcomes and influence their accessibility and use of health services. This vulnerability is aggravated in the context of migration. This article presents a theoretical reflection about the health of migrant women and its determinants, revealing evidence on health inequalities and opportunities for action to promote the health of these populations.
