Abstract

ALMEIDA, Teresa Sousa de. “Capelinhas e candeias acesas”: Natália Nunes and the reflection on the universe of art. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2019, n.42, pp.67-83. ISSN 0874-6885.  https://doi.org/10.34619/wf3s-r788.

This text seeks to present the work of Natália Nunes (1921-2018) and explain the reason for her silencing by most literary criticism. It will analyse her novel Regresso ao Caos (Return to Chaos), of 1960, which is an allegory of artistic creation and at the same time a denunciation of the Portuguese cultural universe regarding the manner in which women were discriminated.

Keywords : Women Writers; Feminism; Theory of Art.
