Abstract

SILVEIRA, Alice Margarida. Woman in becoming: A cartography of multiplicities in Out of Africa. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2019, n.42, pp.47-65. ISSN 0874-6885.  https://doi.org/10.34619/hckr-qs77.

This article addresses the reflexes of deterritorialization on subjectivity and gender >performances. From a methodological path of cartographic inspiration, it highlights the encounters and lines of escape present in the trajectory of Karen Blixen, in thefilm Out of Africa (1985). It transits from the intertwining of the concepts about the territory, rhizome and becoming until to the reflection about the meaningfulness of the nomad and the subjectivity figurations. The deterritorialization process is emphasized as a lever to generate ways of facing and overcoming the normative paradigm of fixed identities, stereotyped and hierarchized gender representations.

Keywords : nomadic consciousness; deterritorialization; becoming; gender.
