Abstract

PEREZ-QUIROGA, Ana. I hate being fat, eat me please!. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2019, n.Extra, pp.161-168. ISSN 0874-6885.

Work composed by porcelain platters mounted on a red damask cloth. Each platter is unique, decorated with a sepia photograph of the artist’s naked body in different poses, and with the sentence (written in Portuguese, English, French, and German) I hate being fat, please eat me! Revisiting the representation of the feminine nude in art and adding to a word game that hints at a critique of the stereotypes of an androcentric society, these poses stage different postures in a discourse that ranges from the representation of a conventional beauty to an assumedly erotic intention.

Keywords : female nude; stereotypes; daily life; domestic; androcentrism.
