Abstract

JORDAO, Albertina. Women workers in a changing world: A Portuguese journalist at the International Labour Conference. Ex aequo [online]. 2014, n.30, pp.69-78. ISSN 0874-5560.

This article is part of a broader research which is being carried out regarding the relationship between Portugal and the International Labour Organization, with a focus on Portuguese female in the tripartite delegations to the International Labour Conference (ILC). This article refers the participation of the first Portuguese woman in the workers adviser group in 1964, a time when the Portuguese trade unions were not free and in a period at which the international pressure over the country was growing. In 1964, one of the items in ILC agenda was «women workers in a changing world». The main subjects debated during the specialized committee regarding women workers are discussed here.
