The present paper aims to identify and to argue some central aspects contained in the relationship of domestic violence on the woman and the effect produced in her identity, role and parental experience. Some of the direct and indirect consequences of this phenomenon are pointed with respect to mother. Some of the particularities in the parenting performance whether or not the victim remains in the relationship and the eventual emergent conflicts of interest of this experience are analyzed. Finally, the idea of the importance of the aid to parenting in cases of domestic violence is supported, and some directives for further research are suggested.
