Abstract

PALMA, Patrícia Brito  and  CUNHA, Miguel Pina e. Change and creativity in organizations: the case of an acquisition. Psicologia [online]. 1999, vol.13, n.1-2, pp.193-217. ISSN 0874-2049.  https://doi.org/10.17575/rpsicol.v13i1/2.566.

This paper analyses the impact of a radical organizational change process on the creativity of an organization. The adopted rational was based on Basadur's (1997) model of organizational creativity, which States that creativity is a synonym of adaptability, and works as a cyclic process where problem finding, problem solving and solution implementation activities succeed. The results have shown an improvement on organizational creativity in the post-change phase, in spite of not achieving values close to what could be called a "best practice". It is considered the possibility that improvements have mainly been due to an attempt of improving organizational processes, and not to a direct impact of change on creativity.
