SOUSA, Hugo Miguel Garcia de. Tele-nursing for health promotion for children in a Family Health Unit. Rev. Enf. Ref. [online]. 2013, vol.serIII, n.9, pp.135-144. ISSN 0874-0283.  https://doi.org/10.12707/RIII1250.

The health gains resulting from an efficient tele-nursing service are numerous. This is a descriptive quantitative study carried out to assess the needs felt by nurses in a Family Health Unit and parents/caregivers of children aged 0 to 17 years inclusive to create a direct phone line to answer questions and give advice about children. The method of data collection was the questionnaire, two being constructed for the purpose. Authorization for the study was requested from the Unit coordinator, anonymity and confidentiality were guaranteed, and collaboration and informed consent were requested from parents/caregivers and nurses at Family Health Unit. Two non-probabilistic intentional samples were used, one consisting of 102 parents/caregivers of children enrolled at Family Health Unit and the other consisting of five nurses at the Unit. Descriptive statistics were used to process the data. Participants in both samples agreed that there is a strong need to create a Direct Telephone Line. It was also concluded that project development is essential in this area in order to increase the accessibility of nursing care for children.
