Context: In adolescence, lifestyle choices are defined which may have repercussions in terms of short- and long-term diseases. Objective: To make a health diagnosis of the adolescent population from 14 to 18 years of age in the municipality of Olhão. Method: The study was carried using a questionnaire with a sample of 308 adolescents and conducting interviews with key informants from the community. Results: It was shown that 47% of adolescents have a high consumption of alcohol, having a high consumption at least once a month. Alcohol is also directly related with the regular use of tobacco, illicit drugs and the propensity for violent behavior. The need for more services for young people was also manifested by 56 participants. Conclusions: The main problems detected were excessive consumption of alcohol and the need for better advertising of health services for young people.
